Government issues guidance on Housing Possession Mediation Service
- Details
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has issued guidance on the Housing Possession Mediation Service.
A pilot scheme has been running since February this year.
Conducted remotely by telephone across England and Wales, the service is free to use for landlords and tenants involved in a housing possession court case.
If an agreement is not reached at the review stage, the parties agree, and the case is deemed suitable, then the case will be referred to mediation.
The guidance covers:
- About the service
- When mediation is offered
- How mediation works
- Getting the most from mediation
- What happens next.
The guidance can be viewed here.
