Court of Appeal agrees to hear second appeal over policy of ‘zoning’ of out-of-borough offers of accommodation
- Details
The Court of Appeal has given permission for a second appeal in a case concerning a housing authority’s policy of ‘zoning’ of out-of-borough offers of accommodation.
Permission for the second appeal in Zaman v Waltham Forest was granted by Lord Justice Arnold.
Barristers’ chambers 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square said the case “raises important points of principle regarding the lawfulness of the Respondent’s policy of ‘zoning’ of out-of-borough offers of accommodation in discharge of duties under Part VII Housing Act 1996, and regarding the proper approach to assessment of affordability when making such offers”.
Siân McGibbon from 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square acts for the appellant, instructed by Marcin Brajta of Camden Community Law Centre.
