Unlocking legal talent

Jonathan Bourne of Damar Training sets out why in-house council teams and law firms should embrace apprenticeships.

The North West’s largest affordable housing provider, Torus, is to undertake preliminary market engagement in advance of a forthcoming tender opportunity for the provision of legal services.

Torus said: “It is intended that the procurement will cover a range of legal disciplines including, but not limited to, housing management, sales and development transactions, employment and HR, and corporate and finance matters.

“The purpose of this early market engagement is to gather insights from potential suppliers to help inform the scope, structure, and approach of the procurement to ensure it meets the needs of the organisation and delivers best value.”

Torus has 40,000 homes in its portfolio.

The contract is expected to run from 1 September 2025 to 1 September 2029.
