Spending watchdog names two firms to £1.8m+ legal services contract

The National Audit Office has appointed two law firms to a contract to provide legal services worth more than £1.8m.
The tender was divided into two lots:
- Constitutional and Public Law (estimated value £1,510,000); and
- Local Public Audit Law (estimated value £345,000).
The successful firms were:
- BDB Pitmans (lot 1) and
- Bates Wells (lot 2).
The contracts are due to last for 48 months with the option to extend for a further period of 24 months.
