Police investigate housing association over possible corporate manslaughter

Joshua Robbins died at Holland and Thurston Dwellings, in Holborn, in January after leaning on the railings of his fifth floor balcony.

A police statement said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we continue to liaise with the Crown Prosecution Service.

“These enquiries can take some time given the nature of the investigation and complexities.

“Joshua’s family continue to be updated as the investigation continues and remain supported by specialist officers.”

The coroner has been notified and a full coroner’s report will be completed at the end of the police investigation.

Pippa Fleetwood-Read, ISHA chief executive, said: “Joshua’s tragic death at the end of January has been deeply distressing for everyone who knew him. We offer our heartfelt and sincerest condolences to them. 

“We hope people understand that whilst investigations are ongoing it is not appropriate for us to comment further.  We continue to give our full co-operation to the police and other authorities, and we hope that these investigations conclude swiftly so Joshua’s family can get the answers they seek.”

An assessment earlier this month by the Regulator of Social Housing found ISHA was meeting its governance, viability and consumer services standards.
