5 Pump Court presents “The Institutional Landlord” webinars – a series designed for local authorities and other landlords managing large housing stock. We will take you through different aspects of the most typical litigation that you might be involved in (particularly possession and disrepair cases), and set out the law and procedure which you need to know. We will also consider the tactics for managing cases in order to have the best chance of getting the result you want in court.
Our webinars will be presented by Chris Payne, a barrister specialising in property litigation. Chris acts for landlords and tenants in a wide range of housing proceedings, particularly in respect of disrepair. He has experience of conducting proceedings in both the county and magistrates courts and is familiar with the costs rules and challenges which apply in both jurisdictions (particularly in respect of the growing number of cases which are funded by CFAs). Chris acts for local authorities and recently represented a local authority in a final hearing regarding whether a property was a principal or only home.
The webinars will be short and sweet - Chris will speak for approximately 30 minutes and there will be time for questions afterwards. Questions can be submitted in advance to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or raised on the day.
