Police force issues second dispersal order in bid to tackle hare coursing

Lincolnshire Police has issued a dispersal order after receiving multiple reports of hare coursing.

The latest order, the second the police force has issued in recent days, will remain in place until 1.05 pm on 31 December.

The dispersal order means that anyone suspected of hare coursing will be asked to leave the county and can be arrested if they return.

Lincolnshire Police said it has received 15 reports yesterday (29 December) in the Boston and South Holland area.

The force said: “We are urging the public to continue to report any activity they believe may be related to hare coursing.”

Lincolnshire Police has previously asked anyone who sees hare coursing taking place to contact them immediately on 999 and provide officers with a description of the people involved, any registration numbers and vehicle descriptions and the location and direction of travel.

“It is important people don’t confront people hare coursing or put themselves at risk,” the force added.
