TLT advises major social landlord on acquisition of affordable homes as part of regeneration project
Law firm TLT has advised SNG (Sovereign Network Group) on its purchase of a number of affordable homes in Brent Cross Town, as part of the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration project.
Brent Cross Town is a new mixed-use town which is being delivered by a joint-venture between Barnet Council and Related Argent - the biggest regeneration and growth programme ever undertaken by the local authority.
Brent Cross Town will create a new hub of activity for north London and when completed, will include 6,700 homes and offices with workspace for 25,000 people, creating 20,000 new jobs as well as reproviding three existing schools and adding new community and public health facilities, parks and improved public spaces.
TLT’s housing and regeneration team advised SNG on all aspects of the transaction. The team was led by housing and regeneration partner Shazia Bashir with support from senior associate Rebecca Thibault and associate Tillie Clark.
The deal also required cross-practice support from the firm’s projects, infrastructure and construction (PIC); planning; and tax teams.
TLT Partner Shazia Bashir said: “The complex work TLT delivered for SNG as part of this significant project demonstrates the expertise of our London team, working collaboratively across multiple service lines, in successfully delivering on high value, high profile projects.”
