Simon Bell, a specialist planning, infrastructure, public, and information law barrister with over 20 years’ experience, has joined Cornerstone Barristers.

Bell advises and represents Central Government, local authorities, developers, infrastructure promoters, landowners, community groups and private clients.

Cornerstone Barristers said his practice focuses on complex planning and infrastructure matters, including Development Consent Orders, planning inquiries, recovered appeals, local plan examinations, judicial review, and planning enforcement.

“Simon is regularly instructed in high-profile and technically complex cases involving major housing developments, electricity transmission projects, heritage assets, enforcement proceedings, and strategic land promotion,” it added.

Joint heads of chambers James Findlay KC and Robin Green said: “We are delighted to welcome Simon Bell to Cornerstone Barristers. He brings with him a wealth of experience across planning, infrastructure, public, and information law, gained from Government legal work and private practice, and enjoys a loyal following for his advisory, inquiry and High Court work.

“We very much look forward to working with him and to the contribution he will make to Chambers and our clients.”
