Consortium of universities launches £4-5m tender for legal services

A consortium of universities in the Midlands has launched a tender for legal services worth in the region of £4-5m.

Led in this case by the University of Wolverhampton, the buying group includes Aston University, Coventry University, the University of Worcester, and Harper Adams University College.

The contract will cover six lots:

1. Commercial, contracts, intellectual property, data protection
2. Employment and pensions
3. Property and construction
4. Regulatory, student issues, governance.
5. Patents & Trademarks
6. European Regional Development Fund.

The first four lots are grouped together, while lots 5 and 6 are standalone.

The framework agreement will last for three years with an option to extend by another year. It will be made available to other universities.
