Seventy-one providers, including Hampshire County Council, were appointed to the previous CSS public sector legal services framework in November 2018. This was estimated to be worth £272m at the time.

John Houlden, a partner at Burges Salmon – one of the three firms that was appointed to all available lots – commented on the appointment: “We are proud to have secured this prestigious appointment, which builds on our recent instructions from the CCS and further demonstrates our deep-rooted credentials in the Public Sector.”

Ioan Prydderch, partner and Head of Public Sector at Hugh James (appointed to lots 2a and 3), said: “We are delighted with this appointment, which is testament to the breadth, depth and quality of support that we can provide to the public, third and social housing sectors in England and Wales. The public sector has been a key focus for the firm for many years and we are pleased that an even greater number of public sector clients will now be able to access our expertise via our place on the framework.”
