Leeds chambers closes its doors after 60 years

Zenith Chambers in Leeds shut last week after 60 years.

A statement on the chambers’ website said: “Please note that with effect from 1pm on Friday 28th February 2020 Zenith Chambers will no longer be operating as a barristers chambers and will be permanently closed….

“The Head of Chambers on behalf of the members and staff of Zenith Chambers wishes to thank our clients for your loyal and valued custom throughout the past 60 years.”

In February this year 13 barristers specialising in family law moved from Zenith to Parklane Plowden Chambers.

Four specialist housing barristers have meanwhile joined Trinity Chambers, which recently opened Leeds.

They are Tom Tyson, Peter Marcus, Vilma Vodanovic and Helen Greatorex. In addition, the team will be supported by Paul McNab, Leeds Civil Clerk who also joins from Zenith Chambers.

Trinity Chambers said: “With Leeds increasingly being regarded as one of the largest legal hubs outside London, the joining of four new tenants cements Trinity's commitment to developing its presence in the region, working with clients across the Northern and North Eastern Circuits.”
