Suffolk wins Team of the Year at Local Government Legal Awards 2016

LLG AWARDS BROCHURE 2016 146x219Suffolk Legal Services have been named Team of the Year at the Local Government Legal Awards 2016.

The runners-up in the category, sponsored by Ashfords, were Gateshead Commercial Law Team, Leeds Legal Services and Nottinghamshire Legal Services.

Graham Cole from Luton Borough Council meanwhile won the Local Government Legal Professional of the Year, sponsored by LexisNexis.

Pauline Campbell of the London Borough of Hackney was the runner-up.

The Junior Lawyer of the Year award, sponsored by Iken, went to Sarah Morton from North Yorkshire County Council, with Kate Hiller from Warwickshire County Council the runner-up.

The other winners and runners-up were:

  • Governance Lawyer/Team of the Year (sponsored by Veale Wasbrough Vizards): Tom Senior and Jessica Adeniran from the City of Wolverhampton Council. Runner up: Paul Cummins and Ben Bix from Horsham District Council.
  • Litigation Lawyer/Team of the Year (A&M Bacon): Pauline Campbell and Maneka Singh from the Criminal Litigation Team at the London Borough of Hackney. Runner up: The Litigation & Governance Team at the City of Wolverhampton Council.
  • People Related Lawyer/Team of the Year (Sellick Partnership): The Children & Adults Social Care Team at Leeds City Council. Runner up: The Social Care (Preventing Violent Extremism) Team at Tower Hamlets
  • Place Related Lawyer/Team of the Year (Law Society): The Property & Development Team at Leeds City Council. Runners up: The Legal Planning & Property Team at Durham County Council and Emma Bethell from Suffolk County Council.
  • Project Lawyer/Team of the Year (LLG Legal Training): Patrick Houghton from Gateshead Borough Council. Runner up: Victoria Newbold from Warwickshire County Council
  • CILEx Lawyer of the Year (Hoopers; CILEx): Richard Owen from Conwy County Borough Council. Runner up: Ruth Griffiths from Peterborough City Council.
  • Innovative Lawyer/Team of the Year (Thomson Reuters): Legal Services at Nottinghamshire County Council. Runner up: Practice Support; Social & Education Teams at the London Borough of Merton/South London Legal Partnership.

The awards ceremony was held at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds.
