Suffolk Legal recognised for learning and development at Law Society Excellence Awards

Suffolk Legal, the in-house legal team for Suffolk County Council, was highly commended in the Excellence in Learning & Development category of the Law Society Excellence Awards 2016.

The category was won by claimant law firm Simpson Millar.

Tim Earl, head of legal services at Suffolk Legal, had also been nominated as In-House Solicitor of the Year, but the award for this category went to Tabatha Mossman of Roche Products.

Winners on the night included Major General Susan Ridge, head of Army Legal Services, who was named The Law Society Gazette Legal Personality of the Year, and John Halford, a partner at Bindmans, who was awarded Solicitor of the Year – Private Practice.

Alexandra Marks, a deputy High Court judge and former partner at City law firm Linklaters, was given a lifetime achievement award.

Spire Healthcare won the Excellence In-house category, with Action for Children being highly commended.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy was the winner of the Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion category.
