Sharpe Pritchard names Mendelle as new Senior Partner

Sharpe Pritchard, the London-based firm of public and commercial law specialists, has appointed Justin Mendelle as its new senior partner.

He takes over from Alastair Lewis, who has served as the firm’s senior partner for the last three years. The firm’s managing partner, Julia Rudin, continues in her role.

He has been a partner at Sharpe Pritchard since 2011 and most recently has been the firm’s Head of Construction.

Mendelle (pictured) said: “I inherit a strong firm thanks to the leadership of Alastair and Julia over the last three years. I could not have asked for more. My thanks go in particular to Alastair as he hands over the baton of senior partnership.

“This is a difficult time for my leadership of the firm to start. The economic impact of the Covid-19 epidemic is only just starting to be felt and will have very long-term consequences. However, I am confident Sharpe Pritchard is well-positioned to weather this current storm and continue to be able to provide the very high level of service that our clients expect of us.”

Rudin said: “I am very excited to be working alongside Justin in his new role as our senior partner. While he is taking on the role amidst the challenges of the coronavirus outbreak, I am confident the firm will continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership.”

Alastair Lewis added: “It has been an honour to serve as Sharpe Pritchard’s senior partner for the last three years. I believe that the firm will enjoy a continued period of success under Justin’s leadership, particularly as he implements a number of exciting plans for the future.”

Sharpe Pritchard provides specialist advice on public and commercial law matters to clients across the public sector and a growing number of commercial clients.
