Combined authority appoints law firm to advise on project to deliver residential children’s homes

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has appointed law firm Weightmans to advise on ‘Project Skyline’, a collaborative project bringing together the 10 Greater Manchester local authorities, the combined authority, and the NHS to deliver residential children's homes.
The contract is due to start on 18 January 2024 and run until 12 January 2026.
It is estimated to be worth £102,450 to £150,000.
Weightmans will work for GMCA's Monitoring Officer to prepare key GMCA legal documents to support the project.
The combined authority's role in the project is one of co-ordinator and funder and the firm will be supporting GMCA in this role.
Weightmans will also advise the 10 GM local authorities and the 10 GM local authorities’ monitoring officers in relation to the preparation of key GM local authority legal documents to support the project.
