London Boroughs Legal Alliance predicts value of next legal services framework will double to £16m, calls for expressions of interest
The London Boroughs Legal Alliance (LBLA) is seeking expressions of interest as it looks to re-procure its next legal services framework, which is estimated to be worth £16m over four years.
This value is more than double that of the current contract, which was put at £6.3m when awarded in 2017.
The agreement will be divided into two lots:
- Legal advisory services in relation to regeneration related work
- Full range of legal services including but not limited to litigation, commercial, property and other miscellaneous local government work.
No more than eight providers will be appointed to each lot.
The LBLA has selected 12 March 2021 as the 'approach to market date' and 6 November 2021 as the contract start date. After the initial three-year period, the authorities will have the option to extend the contract for a further 12 months.
The LBLA is currently comprised of the London Boroughs of Barnet, Bexley, Brent, Bromley, Camden, Ealing, Enfield, Hackney, Hammersmith & Fulham, Haringey, Harrow, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Islington, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, the Royal Borough of Greenwich, the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, the City of London Corporation, Westminster City Council and the London Fire and Planning Authority.
Westminster City Council is acting as the central purchasing body on behalf of the legal alliance and will execute a framework agreement with each economic operator appointed.
According to the notice, the framework agreement will also be available to other local authorities in London and South East England.
