Welsh utility appoints 10 law firms to £14m legal services framework

DWR Cymru Welsh Water has appointed ten law firms to a legal services framework agreement estimated to be worth £14m.
The framework was divided into the following lots:
- Property and property litigation.
- Planning and environmental.
- Litigation.
- Employment and pensions.
- Corporate and commercial.
- New business (developer services).
- Competition law.
- Data protection.
- Construction.
- Treasury.
- Health and safety.
- Insurance.
The successful firms were:
- Aaron and Partners (Lot 1)
- BLM (3, 12)
- Burges Salmon (7)
- Eversheds Sutherland (4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11)
- Foot Anstey (3, 4, 5, 8, 9)
- Geldards (6)
- Hugh James (1, 6, 11, 12)
- Linklaters (10)
- Slaughter and May (10)
- TLT (2)
The original contract notice said the framework would run for an initial period of five years, with an option to extend annually for a further two years (5 + 1 + 1) at the sole discretion of DWR Cymru Welsh Water.
