Planning, children and public law specialists are among the 96 lawyers to be appointed as King’s Counsel in the latest appointments round.
Among those named are:

- Rose Grogan, 39 Essex Chambers (environmental and planning law, procurement, public law)
- Robin Hopkins, 11KBW (information law)
- Christopher Knight, 11KBW (public law)
- Andrew Powell, 4PB (children law)
- David Sawtell, 39 Essex Chambers (construction, PFI, property law)
- Christopher Staker, 39 Essex Chambers (international law and public law)

The statistics for successful applicants are as follows:
- The overall success rate was 29.5%; 96 out of a total 325.
- 67 male applicants, 28% success rate
- 29 female applicants, 34% success rate
- 11 applicants who declared an ethnic origin other than white, 21% success rate
- 4 applicants who declared a disability; 22% success rate.
The Government has also announced six honorary King’s Counsel.
