Six judges promoted to Court of Appeal

The appointment of six Lord and Lady Justices of Appeal has been approved.
They are:
- Mrs Justice Cockerill
- Mr Justice Dove
- Mr Justice Foxton
- Mrs Justice May
- Mr Justice Miles
- Mrs Justice Yip.
These appointments will fill vacancies within the Court of Appeal.

The appointment of Lord and Lady Justices of the Court of Appeal are made by the King on the advice of the Prime Minister and the Lord Chancellor following the recommendation of an independent selection panel.
Lord Justice Colin Birss has meanwhile been appointed as the Chancellor of the High Court with effect from 1 November 2025.
