Association of Democratic Services Officers appoints first ever Chief Executive Officer

The Association of Democratic Services Officers (ASDO) has confirmed that Charlotte Eisenhart has been appointed as the group’s first ever Chief Executive Officer.

Eisenhart was most recently Head of Member Services at the National Association of Local Councils. She will begin her role with ADSO on Monday 25 November, at the ADSO Conference 2024.

ADSO Chair, John Austin, commented: “Charlotte joins us at a pivotal time for the Association of Democratic Services Officers. Recruiting our first Chief Executive Officer is a key step towards delivering on our ambitious plans for ADSO’s future. This exciting appointment means that we will be able to do even more to support our ADSO members, and to develop our organisation in a way that works for them.”

Charlotte Eisenhart said: “I am delighted to be joining the Association of Democratic Services Officers as their first Chief Executive Officer. ADSO has huge potential, and I’m excited to be working with the Board and our members as we grow the organisation together.

“I’m unapologetically passionate about local democracy and the power of individuals to make a difference. I’ve dedicated my career and my time outside of work to supporting people and organisations who wish to make a difference. So I am excited to have the opportunity to bring this passion, knowledge and experience to the ADSO community.

“I’m looking forward to representing, promoting and developing excellent democratic services, for the benefit of all those working within the sector and those we support. I really look forward to meeting ADSO’s members when I take up my new role.”
