Council fires gun on procurement of £48m LGPS legal services framework agreement

Norfolk County Council has kickstarted the procurement of a £48m national framework agreement for the provision of pension legal services primarily in support of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
The county council, which is the administrating authority for the Norfolk Pension Fund, said it is working closely with the following contracting authorities, who have expressed an intention to procure services under the Framework:
- City of Edinburgh Council (as Administering Authority of Lothian Pension Fund)
- City of Wolverhampton Council (as Administering Authority of the West Midlands Pension Fund)
- LGPS Central Ltd
- Local Pensions Partnership Investments Ltd (LPPI)
- Northern Ireland Local Government Officers' Superannuation Committee (NILGOSC)
- Staffordshire County Council (as Administering Authority for Staffordshire Pension Fund)
In addition to those listed above, the framework may also be used by a range of other authorities.
The framework is split into the following lots:
- Lot 1. Full Service (England and Wales)
- Lot 2. Full Service (Scotland)
- Lot 3. Full Service (Northern Ireland)
- Lot 4. Investment and Regulatory Compliance (UK Wide)
- Lot 5. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance (England and Wales)
- Lot 6. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance (Scotland)
- Lot 7. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance (Northern Ireland)
The contract is expected to run from 18 January 2027 to 17 January 2035.
