Preventing sexual harassment at work - Blake Morgan

In October 2024, the Worker Protection Act introduced into the Equality Act 2010 a proactive legal duty on employers in the UK to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of employees.

The preventative duty will continue to expand to include taking all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of employees. Training employees on what sexual harassment is, how to recognise it and what to do to stop it is a reasonable step that all employers can take as part of complying with this duty. Suzy Lamplugh Trust has partnered with a leading law firm and employment law specialist Blake Morgan LLP, to create a series of on demand, practical and legally grounded e-learning sessions on sexual harassment. This training is designed to be one of the reasonable steps an employer can take to prevent sexual harassment.

The easily available, on demand e-learning sessions are designed for employers of all sizes. The sessions:

1. Explain what sexual harassment is.
2. Break down the preventative duty and what taking “reasonable steps” may look like in practice.
3. Help organisations identify potential risk factors.
4. Train managers, employees, and bystanders to recognise, respond to, and seek to prevent sexual harassment.

The online, on demand service can be hosted on the Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s LMS.
