Child care barrister rejoins Garden Court Chambers after spell in local government

Artis Kakonge has rejoined Garden Court Chambers after a number of years on a sabbatical working in local government.

Kakonge was a senior member of the child care teams at Suffolk County Council as well as the London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Islington and Brent, where she conducted a specialist case-load of care and adoption proceedings in the Family and High Court.

Garden Court Chambers said: “She has also used her sabbatical to develop her experience in management gained as a former member of the management committee and co-convenor of the Pupillage Committee.”

Kakonge is currently completing an Executive MBA in Leadership at Cass Business School and is the first ever recipient of the Coca Cola Global Women’s leadership scholarship.

She is a member of Garden Court’s Court of Protection, Family, International and Professional Regulation teams.
