Hastoe Group takes membership of Housing Associations Legal Alliance to 15

Hastoe Group, which specialises in rural housing, has become the 15th housing association to join HALA, the Housing Associations’ Legal Alliance.

Managed by specialist legal consultancy Kennedy Cater, the alliance has been running for eight years. It provides joint procurement of external legal services, including the establishment of a solicitors panel, free of charge value added benefits and sharing of legal knowledge and best practice.

Established in 1962, Hastoe owns and manages more than 7,500 homes in over 70 local authority areas across the south of England from Norfolk down to Cornwall.

Will Roberts, Finance Director and Legal Company Secretary at Hastoe, said: “We are delighted to have become the latest member of HALA and look forward to enjoying the wide ranging benefits available to us as the Alliance continues to grow.”

Tim Morel, Director and Co-Founder of Kennedy Cater, said: “Reduced legal fees without compromising quality, and monthly management information are notable draws for housing associations joining HALA.

“However HALA also offers significant free of charge add on benefits; notably a ‘needs based’ training programme that is expertly fulfilled by the panel firms, as well as bespoke in-house training sessions delivering further significant savings.”
