Mills & Reeve "comfortably outperforms" UK 100 average growth in revenue

Mills & Reeve has reported that it “comfortably outperformed” the average of 4.6% growth in revenue at the UK's top 100 law firms.

Turnover at the national law firm rose to £93.2m in 2016/17 - an increase of 7.2% on the previous financial year.

Justin Ripman, Mills & Reeve senior partner, said: “We set ourselves some ambitious targets and are delighted to have achieved such significant growth. We believe we are the only law firm in the UK top 100 to have consistently grown profit and turnover each year since 2002.

“Despite the current uncertainty in the market, with the triggering of Article 50 and recent general election, we are optimistic that we will continue to grow the business and the recent merger with London law firm Maxwell Winward is evidence of this.”

The merger with Maxwell Winward, which completed on 1 June this year, in particular bolstered the firm’s real estate, surety, projects and construction practices.

The move meant Mills & Reeve has 116 partners and nearly 1,000 staff operating from six offices in Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, London, Manchester and Norwich.
