Unlocking legal talent

Jonathan Bourne of Damar Training sets out why in-house council teams and law firms should embrace apprenticeships.

Mark Rawcliffe, a specialist in child law with extensive experience in all areas, has joined 1GC Family Law with immediate effect.

Called to the bar in 1996, Rawcliffe has specialised in recent years in care proceedings representing children's guardians.

He takes instruction on referral and direct access. “However instruction comes his approach is non-judgemental, efficient and effective,” 1GC said.

Nkumbe Ekaney QC and Andrew Norton QC, Joint Heads of Chambers, said: "Chambers is delighted to welcome Mark as a member of 1GC, Mark brings his considerable experience and expertise in children cases to our busy children team.”

Rawcliffe said: “I am very pleased to be joining 1GC. Its reputation as a family law set is second to none. I have been impressed by the intellect, hard work, skill and professionalism of everyone I have worked with from 1GC and hope to add to 1GC's strength."
