Leading public law silk appointed as High Court judge

Nathalie Lieven QC, a leading public and planning law barrister at Blackstone Chambers, has been appointed as a High Court judge.
Lieven, who was called to the Bar in 1989 and became a silk in 2006, was appointed following an open competition run by the Judicial Appointments Commission.
She will take up appointment on 11 January 2019, assigned to the Family Division.
At the Bar she has regularly represented central government, local authorities, NGOs and private clients.
