Trowers & Hamlins advises North West council on next stage of major regeneration scheme
- Details
Law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised Bolton Council on the selection of new developers, MPEC, for the next state of the Crompton Place regeneration.
MEPC, the specialist development arm of Federated Hermes, is known for delivering some of the UK’s biggest urban regeneration and placemaking schemes including NOMA in Manchester, Wellington Place in Leeds and Paradise in Birmingham.
Trowers & Hamlins said Federated Hermes' selection was based on thorough evaluation of financial standing, deliverability, design quality, innovation, social value and alignment of their proposals with the Bolton 2040 Borough Plan.
Planning permission for the demolition of Crompton Place was secured in August and is currently scheduled for completion in Spring / Summer 2027.
Following the appointment of Federated Hermes, Bolton Council will now seek to secure GMCA funding to support the project.
Katie Saunders, Partner in Projects and Construction at Trowers & Hamlins and Manchester Office co-Head, said: "We are very proud to have advised Bolton Council on this exciting next step in the Crompton Place regeneration, a project that will rejuvenate Bolton's town centre and celebrate the heritage that defines Greater Manchester.
“With Crompton Place recognised as a priority scheme within the Greater Manchester Strategy and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Good Growth fund, we are pleased to be part of a project that will deliver a new space for the community."
Chris Plumley, Partner in Real Estate, said: “Crompton Place is a prime example of revamping empty or underused spaces to create development ready sites, attract investors and creating a mixed use space with plans for residential contributing to GMCA' s housing strategy."
