South of England authorities fire gun on £40m legal services framework

A group of local authorities in the South of England are to procure a framework for legal and advocacy services worth an estimated £40m over four years.

The councils are:

  • Surrey County Council
  • East Sussex County Council
  • Brighton & Hove City Council
  • West Sussex County Council
  • The associated districts and boroughs

The framework agreement has been divided into the following lots:

1. Adult Social Care.

2. Pensions.

3. SEN Tribunals & Education.

4. Commercial Law, Contracts & Procurement, Telecoms & IT Law, Construction Law.

5a. FOI GDPR Information Law.

5b. Monitoring Officer, Local Government Law.

6a. Highways, Planning and Environment.

6b Property and Housing.

7a. Employment.

7b. Civil, Criminal, Environmental Health, Licencing & Housing, and Contentious Construction.

8. Legal Counsel/Advocacy Services for Lots 1-7.

9a. Children’s Social Care - Part A - Transactional Case Work.

9b. Children’s Social Care - Part B - Counsel/Advocacy.

10. Costs Lawyers.

11. Loss Adjusters.

The term is 3 years plus a 1-year optional extension.

The contract will be awarded on the basis of quality (weighting: 50) and price (weighting: 50).

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 5.00pm on 13 January 2025.
