Health and care regulator names two firms to panel worth up to £6m

The Health and Care Professions Council has appointed two law firms to a legal services framework worth up to £6m over five years.

The framework was divided into the following lots:

  1. Corporate advice
  2. Regulatory advice
  3. FTP (fitness to practise) case specific advice - this lot did not include FTP case preparation and presentation services, this is a separate contract not currently due to retender.

The successful firms were BDB Pitmans (lot 1) and Blake Morgan (lots 2 and 3).

The contracts were awarded on the basis of quality (weighting: 65%), interview (5%) and price (30%).

The contracts are due to commence in April 2021 for four years with an option to extend for a up to a further year.

The HCPC regulates 15 health and care professions in the UK.
