Sheffield secures position on West Yorkshire authorities legal framework

Sheffield City Council has secured positions on three out of ten lots on a new framework agreement set up by the WYLAW group of West Yorkshire local authorities and City of York Council.

Invicta Law, the recently-launched alternative business structure wholly owned by Kent County Council, has meanwhile been appointed to six lots.

Altogether 19 law firms and other providers have been appointed across the ten lots, which are estimated to be worth a combined £2.5m per annum. In June 2013 WYLAW appointed 23 law firms.

The contract is for 36 months, with scope for one 12-month extension.

WYLAW comprises Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield Councils. The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is also able to use the framework.
