Berwin Leighton Paisner secures renewal of Thames Water legal partnership
- Details
Thames Water has extended its legal outsourcing partnership with Berwin Leighton Paisner until 2018, it has been announced.
The scheme, described as a 'managed legal services arrangement', was launched in 2010, when more than a dozen lawyers at the utility transferred to the law firm. The deal, reported to be worth £5m a year, saw Thames Water retain a core function in-house.
Joel Hanson, general counsel at Thames Water, said: “We are delighted to build on the successes of our partnership with BLP. By making our lives simpler, my team will continue to spend more time on strategic business issues.”
BLP’s joint client relationship partner for Thames Water, Andrew Hockley, said: “Our extended agreement ensures we can continue to deliver great service at the right price. We value this opportunity to deepen further our relationship with Thames Water and to continue to support the business.”
