The Law Society has issued a practice note on the equality and diversity requirements of the SRA Handbook.
The practice note covers:
- The Equality Act 2010;
- The SRA Handbook (Principle 9 and Chapter 2 of the SRA Code on equality and diversity);
- Meeting the regulatory requirements (Outcomes 2.1-2.5 in particular);
- How the Law Society can assist a practice to comply.
The note includes “examples of behaviours which may enable adherence to the outcomes, as well as examples of behaviours which would not”.
