Government Procurement Service names law firms to £250m framework

The Government Procurement Service has unveiled the successful firms for its long-awaited £250m legal services framework.

The framework, which was developed by the GPS in collaboration with the Government Legal Service, replaces the existing Legal Services and LitCat frameworks.

It will last four years and consists of eight lots.

The GPS said: “These categories were developed by GPS and GLS to offer ready access to a wide range of firms – from niche practices to full service commercial firms – including those with the ability to handle complex and high value projects.”

The expiry date for call-off contracts under the 2007 legal services framework had been November 2012. However, it was extended to last until 31 January.
