Audit Commission to unveil public sector performance website

The Audit Commission will this week launch a new website containing independent information on the performance of local public services across England.

The Oneplace site – due to be unveiled on 9 December 2009 – will feature the results of the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), based on the collective assessment of six independent inspectorates.

The site will keep track of the progress made by organisations and service-providers on priority issues in their local area.

The Commission said: “It will highlight where things are going well, where there may be problems and how councils and their partners are working together to improve quality of life for residents.”

The site aims to publish reports written in straightforward, jargon-free language. “We’ve involved users throughout the development of the website, [so] it should be easy to find the information [they] are looking for,” the Commission added.
