Twelve law firms appointed to £11.75m LGPS legal services panel

Twelve law firms have been appointed to a £11.75m legal services framework to provide support to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

Norfolk County Council worked jointly with the City of Wolverhampton and City of Edinburgh Councils, Brunel Pensions Partnership, the Environment Agency, Local Pensions Partnership, Northern Ireland Local Government Officers Superannuation Committee, and Suffolk County Council to procure the agreement.

The agreement was split into seven lots:

  1. Full service.
  2. Full service – Scotland.
  3. Full service – Northern Ireland.
  4. Investment – UK wide.
  5. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance – England and Wales.
  6. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance – Scotland.
  7. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance – Northern Ireland.

  • Pinsent Masons (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)

  • Trowers & Hamlins (5, 7)
  • Ward Hadaway (5)

The framework agreement is for the provision of legal services to administering authorities of of LGPS and employer bodies “within the respective funds on all aspects of the law and regulations applicable to them including specialist advisers in pensions and investment law”.
