DfE appoints four firms to £11m contract for teacher misconduct cases

The Department for Education has appointed four law firms to provide presenting officer services for teacher misconduct cases under a contract worth nearly £11m over two years.

The successful firms were:

  • Brabners
  • Browne Jacobson
  • Capsticks
  • Kingsley Napley.

They will provide legal services to assist the investigation, preparation, presentation and conclusion of cases of alleged serious teacher misconduct referred to the Department.

This could include the initial investigation of cases that are referred to the DfE.

The contract will start on 1 February 2024 and end on 31 January 2026.

The appointments were through a call off from Crown Commercial Services Framework RM6240.
