Description

The Subsidy Control Act 2022 consolidates a UK State aid regime and introduces significant changes to the current position. Although limited parts of the Act are already in force, the remaining parts of the Subsidy Control Act 2022 are expected to come into force in late 2022 / early 2023.

To assist public and private sector bodies to prepare, DWF's Subsidy Control experts will be delivering a practical guide to the new requirements, including identifying what steps need to be taken to adapt to the new regime and when. This will include an overview as to which measures are required to be submitted to the Competition and Markets Authority for review, as well as the submission process, timetables and practical tips.

The session will be led by Jonathan Branton and Alexander Rose, who both appeared as experts at the House of Commons Select Committee for the Subsidy Control Bill. They have extensive experience advising on a wide range of subsidies and different government funds including in respect of major industrial investment, urban regeneration, energy infrastructure, and sports, culture and leisure infrastructure.
