Whether you are head of legal, monitoring officer, deputy monitoring officer or team leader, expanding and broadening your management and leadership skills will ensure you are able to maximise your influence within your authority. Brand new for 2020, LLG’s first Essential Leadership Skills Conference will provide a one day masterclass on leadership skills, problem solving, influence and negotiation, governance, and expanding your strategic contribution. This skills based conference will include sessions on:

• Maximising your influence within the sector
• Working with members
• A Council wide approach to governance
• The relationship between the Council and Council owned bodies, and the management of major external contractors
• The governance of partnerships
• The transition to the top table

Sessions will include practical examples and plenty of time to interact with and question our panel of highly experienced speakers.

Target Audience

This conference is aimed at all aspiring monitoring officers and leaders within local authorities, and anyone wishing to broaden their role and strengthen their leadership skills.

Competencies

This conference will cover the following aspects of the SRA’s Statement of solicitor competence:
