Cafcass sees 8% year-on-year rise in applications in last quarter

The Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service received 849 applications in June, a 5% increase on the position a year ago.
Cafcass said that in the April to June quarter this year it received 2,744 applications, 8% up on the same period in 2012.
In the year to March 2013, Cafcass received 11,091 new applications, an 8% rise on the position in the previous 12 months.
The 1,004 applications received in February 2013 were the highest ever recorded for a single month.
