Capsticks appoints Hamilton to further term as managing partner

Law firm Capsticks has reappointed Martin Hamilton as its managing partner for a further term through to April 2023.

In 2017 Hamilton became managing partner elect for a year, jointly with Alison Morley as the firm undertook a strategic review. Since 2018 he has been its managing partner and part of its Senior Management Team along with Rachael Heenan (Senior Partner) and Neil Middleton (Chief Operating Officer).

Capsticks said key achievements during his tenure included:

  • Double digit growth year on year in its dedicated markets — in the Health and Social Care; Housing; Regulatory; and Emergency Services sectors.
  • Expansion of Capsticks’ national footprint with the acquisition of Whiteheads Solicitors, a housing practice in Chorley, Greater Manchester.
  • A focus on its people strategy as a priority, with key initiatives such as the Mindful Business Charter (to promote better mental health and wellbeing in the legal community), Women in Leadership in Law, the Race at Work Charter and Stonewall’s Diversity campaign.

Rachael Heenan, Capsticks' Senior Partner, said: “Martin’s reappointment is a testament to his hard work, focus and the respect and trust he has from everyone within the firm. It’s great that we can continue to work together in implementing our strategy.”

Hamilton, who was the firm’s Head of Employment between 2010 and 2018, said: “I’m delighted to have been reappointed as managing partner, and I’m hugely looking forward to continuing to work to keep our clients one step ahead in the support they receive from everyone at Capsticks. Our strategy is simple, if we look after our teams then they will do the best for each other and our clients.”
