Top-rated planning silk Chris Katkowski QC joins Kings Chambers

Christopher Katkowski QC, who has been rated the top planning silk in the annual Planning Magazine survey a record 11 times, is joining Kings Chambers.

Mr Katkowski was the planning lawyer on the Task Force appointed by the Government to draw up the proposals contained in the Planning for the Future White Paper issued in August 2020.

At Kings Chambers he will be a member of the set's Planning and Environmental Group.

Head of Kings Chambers, Paul G Tucker QC said: “This is the best possible news for the planning team at Kings Chambers and the whole of Chambers welcomes Chris joining us.”

Mr Katkowski, who took silk in 1999 and moves from Landmark Chambers, said: “I’m really looking forward to carrying on doing the job that I love so much as a planning QC from my new home at Kings Chambers.”

He will continue to be based in London “and once circumstances allow will hold meetings wherever works best for clients”, Kings Chambers said.

He will be clerked by the set’s Chief Clerk, Gary Smith and Senior Clerk, Mark Ronson.
