Bevan Brittan hires Caton as health partner in London

Bevan Brittan has bolstered the health team in its London office with the hire of Carly Caton as a partner.

Caton joins the firm after 15 years at Pinsent Masons where she was a director. During that time she worked on a wide range of commercial transactions and partnering arrangements in the health sector.

She led the team which closed the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust’s new PF2 hospital project (Midland Metropolitan Hospital), the first hospital to be procured under HM Treasury’s PF2 model and involving the construction of a new hospital on a brownfield site.

Caton has advised on numerous health PFI projects, and variations to health PFI projects.

Sharon Renouf, head of health at Bevan Brittan, said: “We are delighted that Carly is joining us. She has wide-ranging experience across a number of top projects in the health sector. She is extremely well-placed to advise our clients on their procurement projects, commercial arrangements and other strategic activity. With the sector under continuing financial pressure, the importance of appropriate legal structuring of projects has never been higher.”

Caton said: “I am very happy to be joining Bevan Brittan, which has a first class reputation for its health expertise  Having specialised in health throughout my career, I was very attracted by the firm.  I look forward to working closely with clients as they pursue arrangements that bring greater efficiency, integration and financial certainty.”

Caton's appointment brings the number of partners in Bevan Brittan's health team to 23.
