North West Legal Consortium names 14 firms to 2020-24 legal services framework
The North West Legal Consortium has appointed 14 firms to its latest four-year framework agreement for legal services.
The framework agreement , which runs from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2024, has been divided into the following lots:
- Civil Litigation
- Property, Planning and Environment
- Corporate Governance, Ethical Standards and Information Law
- Projects, Procurement and Commercial
- Social Care and Education
The 14 successful firms were:
- Addleshaw Goddard (Lot 4)
- Bevan Brittan (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
- BLM (1, 4, 5)
- Brabners (2)
- Browne Jacobson (5)
- DAC Beachcroft (2, 3, 4, 5)
- DLA Piper (2, 4)
- DWF (3)
- Freeths (2, 4)
- Geldards (1, 2, 3, 4)
- Plexus Law (1)
- Sharpe Pritchard (4)
- TLT Solicitors (1, 2, 3, 4)
- Weightmans (1, 3, 4, 5)
Four firms were awarded partner status. They were:
- Bevan Brittan
- DAC Beachcroft
- Geldards
- Weightmans
Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council was the lead contracting authority for the Consortium, with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority procuring the services on its behalf.
David McCullough, Chief Legal and Democratic Officer at Sefton Council (Consortium Lead Authority) and Chair of the Consortium Management Board, said: “We are delighted to deliver a new Solicitors Framework to our 48 member organisations across the northwest of England.
“Our members are all very busy and rely to varying extents on external support but when that support is needed the Consortium Framework provides them with easy desktop access to quality legal advice at preferential rates.
“In addition, our Partner firms offer a range of added value services to our members including the provision of a comprehensive free training programme throughout the year. We look forward to working with the Solicitors appointed to the Framework and in particular the Partner Firms.”

In April 2016 the North West Legal Consortium named 18 law firms to its last framework, which was then estimated to be worth £10m.
