Met Police selects seven law firms for £24m national legal services panel

The Metropolitan Police Service has named seven law firms to a national legal services panel worth up to £24m over four years.

The national legal services framework was divided into four lots, with three suppliers appointed to each lot. The lots are:

  • Lot 1 Procurement, Contract and Commercial, Governance;
  • Lot 2 Civil Litigation and Personal Injury;
  • Lot 3 Employment; and
  • Lot 4 Commercial, Residential Property and PFI.

The successful firms were:

  • Capsticks (Lots 1, 3);
  • Clyde & Co (2);
  • Gowling WLG (3);
  • Michelmores (1, 3, 4);
  • Plexus Law (2);
  • TLT Solicitors (1, 4);
  • Weightmans (2, 4).

The framework was set up on behalf of all police forces in England and Wales and their partner agencies, the GLA functional bodies, and selected local authorities.

The Met Police estimated the total expenditure under the framework by all the eligible users to be between £18m and £24m.

The contract was awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender in terms of: pricing (weighting 30); commercial (weighting 5); and technical (weighting 65).
