Surrey authorities name law firms and chambers to £20m legal panels

A consortium of local authorities in the South of England have named eight law firms and 10 barristers’ chambers to legal services panels worth up between £6m and £20m.

The procurement of the Surrey Provision of External Legal Services (SPELS) Framework was led by Surrey County Council.

Other authorities participating include the 11 borough and district councils within Surrey: Guildford; Spelthorne; Reigate and Banstead; Waverley; Woking; Surrey Heath; Epsom and Ewell; Tandridge; Elmbridge; Mole Valley; and Runnymede.

Also able to access the framework are West Berkshire Council (including districts, boroughs, unitary and local authorities in Berkshire), and East Sussex County Council (including districts, boroughs, unitary and local authorities in East Sussex).

The firms and chambers were appointed on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender in terms of quality (weighting 60) and price (weighting 40).
