Browne Jacobson appoints Antoniou as new London Head of Education

Browne Jacobson has appointed Charlotte Antoniou as a partner and the new head of its London education team.

The law firm said that, as the former head of education at Michelmores, Antoniou “brings 10 years’ experience in the education sector advising maintained schools, academies, multi-academy trusts and their sponsors on an array of legal matters, including collaborative structures, re-brokerages, governance, data protection, admissions, exclusions and special educational needs issues”.

She has advised on more than 300 academy conversions and 60 free schools to date.

Mark Blois, Browne Jacobson’s National Head of Education, said: “We are delighted that Charlotte has made the decision to join our national education team and also be the new head of our education practice in London.

“Charlotte’s extensive technical experience and her long standing passion for delivering exceptional client service to education clients makes her the perfect addition to what is already a market leading national education practice.

“Her appointment will add significant additional senior capacity to our team in response to growing client demand for our services and also represents a key step in our ambitions to further grow our education client base, including in London and the South-East.”

Antoniou said: “I am thrilled to finally be joining the Browne Jacobson education team where I will be working with the very best education lawyers in the country and acting for an extensive range of schools and MATs.

"As a trainee lawyer in 2011, I was warned off becoming an education lawyer for fear of it being too niche. Ten years on and it was the best decision I ever made. I feel very lucky to be in the Education space and I cannot wait to build on my experience at Browne Jacobson.”
