£49,498 - £52,564 per annum

Stratford on Avon and Warwick District Councils joined forces in 2022 to create a new shared Legal Team for South Warwickshire providing a full range of legal services to both authorities.

We are seeking a Team Leader for the Property section of our shared Legal Team. You will be an enthusiastic, adaptable and self-motivated lawyer with significant experience in commercial property legal work, including land assembly for regeneration, development or project purposes.  You should also have an awareness of the wider issues which might arise, including best value, open spaces and subsidy control.

You will work in a supportive environment having your own varied caseload of complex legal work advising senior officers and councillors on high profile cases across both local authorities. You will be an integral part of the Legal Team working with the Legal Services Manager, the Team Leader (Commercial) and the Team Leader (Planning & Regulatory) to shape the direction of the Legal Team. You will also lead and motivate an excellent team of property lawyers.

You will be directly involved in varied and high-quality legal work and make a positive difference to our communities.

Local government experience and management experience is desirable but not essential provided you have an interest and commitment to local government work and to managing and developing teams. We will accept applications from qualified solicitors, barristers and fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives.
