£55,650- £56,739 per annum plus a market supplement up to £7,000 (renewable per annum) and a welcome payment of £3000

Providing legal services to the London Boroughs of Merton, Richmond, Sutton, Wandsworth and Royal Borough of Kingston, we are able to offer employment opportunities across all aspects of local government legal work.

We are based in South West London and offer a wide range of flexible working options, including hybrid working and compressed hours although like all other organisations, we are now promoting office attendance to reflect business needs.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic applicants, keen to develop their skills in a public sector environment. Please do not be put off if you have limited local government experience – it is your determination to provide a top-class legal service which will matter most.

We are looking for a Senior lawyer with a proven track record in dealing with commercial property matters relating to asset portfolio management and experience in dealing with all aspects of public sector land holdings be that for development, sale, lease or otherwise.  You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to provide advice on all aspects of local authority land dealings. Ideally, you should be able to demonstrate experience and a good understanding of local authority governance.   

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, drafting skills and the ability to provide legal advice to a variety of audiences, including senior officers and Members. This post will have supervisory responsibilities for up to 3 lawyers and so previous experience of supervising staff is desirable.
